26-Year-Old New Brighton Man Dies While Kayaking In South Carolina

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A local man has drowned while kayaking in South Carolina.
According to the Oconee County Coroner's Office, 26-year-old Kellen Mackey of New Brighton was in the area of Lake Hartwell while attending a wedding party.
Mackey had gone out onto the lake on a kayak early Saturday morning, which overturned.
The coroner says Mackey was not wearing a flotation device and could not swim.
His body was recovered from the water on Saturday afternoon.
