Josh Bell: Trying To Grow As An Outfielder
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Pirates outfield prospect Josh Bell was the organization's Player of the Month for June.
He joined Bob Pompeani Saturday, and Pompeani asked if Bell might eventually play first base.
"Honestly, I'm focusing right now on being the best player I can be," Bell said. "I'm in right field, just doing what I can every day to grow as a right fielder. If later on down the road that pathway changes for me, I'm going to take it in full stride and try to be the best player I can be so I can be a big leaguer."
Pompeani asked Bell if he has an internal timeline for making it to the majors.
"Whenever I make it to the big leagues, it's going to be great for me and my family. But right now I can't really focus on that. It's kind of a ways away," Bell said.
