North Versailles Dispatcher Accused Of Filming Police Officers In The Bathroom

NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. (KDKA) - A 911 dispatcher is accused of attaching a small hidden camera inside a urinal in the North Versaille's Police Department.

Police say long-time township employee John Logan is charged with putting a hidden camera up in the bathroom.

The bathroom is single-occupancy and when an officer went to use it, he noticed a small camera in the corner of the urinal, painted white, with the SD card sticking out of it.

When other officers were called to come to take a look, Logan said he needed to use the bathroom. However, when Logan exited the bathroom, the SD card had been taken.

No one else used the bathroom after Logan and he admitted to detectives he touched the camera in the bathroom and it was out of "stupidity." He did not admit to placing the camera.

"I like to say innocent until or unless proven guilty," said Logan's attorney Phil DiLucente.

After a search of Logan's home, detectives found a similar camera, as well as videos of officers using the bathroom on a separate USB drive. Police say three victims were identified.

"Keep in mind Mr. Logan has been a 20-year faithful employee of North Versailles township," said DiLucente.

KDKA knocked on Logan's door for comment but he didn't answer. KDKA's Shelley Bortz tried talking to neighbors too but was told to leave him alone.

Logan is now being charged with three counts of invasion of privacy and tampering with evidence. He's been off the job since the incident.

"My client was not arrested by warrant. County police have filed this which is very serious," DiLucente said.

The chief says he can't comment on personnel matters. No date is set yet for Logan's preliminary hearing.
