Injury Report: Roethlisberger May Face Off With The Ravens
By Danny Cox
The Pittsburgh Steelers know that they need to turn their season and they need to do it right now. They may be sitting at 4-3 and on top of their division, but the Baltimore Ravens could take them over with a victory on Sunday. Luckily, the Steelers are finally starting to come around in terms of injuries and get past a lot of those that have plagued them this season.
Most notable among those healing? One Ben Roethlisberger, quarterback for the Steelers.
For Sunday's game, Big Ben has been upgraded from Out to Questionable as he participated on a limited basis in practice during this past week. As of now, he is looking like a gametime decision and the Steelers aren't going to let anyone know one way or another before they are absolutely sure if he's going to play or not.
Running back DeAngelo Williams missed a couple of days of practice this week and it's not entirely sure if he will be able to play due to a lingering knee problem. Le'Veon Bell will likely get another start for the Steelers, but it's possible that Williams would come in as a third-down back or as needed.
Cornerback William Gay was in practice and not listed on the injury report all week until Friday. He did not take part in practice on Friday and is now listed as questionable with a possible foot injury. The only player listed as Out for Pittsburgh is guard Cody Wallace who missed practice all week and will miss yet another game.
Ravens Dealing With Long List Of Missing Players And Injuries
The Baltimore Ravens have watched their season quickly deteriorate as they have now lost four in a row and are going into a big-time divisional game with a rather long injury list. Linebackers Elvis Dumervil (foot) and Kamalei Correa (thigh) are both listed as Out for Sunday's game as is tight end Crockett Gillmore with a thigh injury.
Cornerback Shareece Wright has a thigh injury as well and is the only player listed as Doubtful for the Ravens.
Looking at the list of Questionable players on the injury report, the Ravens have numerous question marks for Sunday's game. Linebacker Terrell Suggs will likely play even though he's battling a bicep injury, but his time could be limited. This hurts the Ravens considerably with two linebackers definitely out and C.J. Mosley (thigh) also listed as questionable.
Cornerbacks Lardarius Webb (thigh) and Tavon Young (concussion) are Questionable, but should play against the Steelers. Young still has to go though the final portion of the NFL's concussion protocol which will be administered over the weekend.
The Ravens are looking to be in rather bad shape and all of these injuries are not going to help as they attempt to stop a losing streak that may stretch to five. Their battered defense is going to be in even worse shape if Roethlisberger actually does play.
