Ian Eagle: Browns Just Hoping Their Latest Overhaul Works

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – "NFL on CBS" play-by-play broadcaster Ian Eagle joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Thursday to preview the Steelers-Browns season opener.

Eagle talked about the Browns as they enter this season:

"I think the initial perception is looking around the locker room saying alright, nice to meet you," Eagle said. "These are all new players. They have 26 players remaining from the roster the Browns ended last season with. That's a huge turnover. I think we're at a point now where stability, which had always been the theme in Pittsburgh for many, many years, they had to make changes, they had to get younger, which means there's some unproven talent, which means there's a mystery surrounding the team. That's why I think so many people around the NFL have had a tough time getting a feel for where Pittsburgh fits into the landscape. With Cleveland, this has been the norm. They change coaches. They change quarterbacks. There's a reason why this team has had such a poor record since 1999. They have not been able to come up with any form of consistency on both sides of the ball, and the same is true now. Nothing is different in 2014. They just hope they now have the right combination."

The game can be seen Sunday at 1 p.m. locally on KDKA-TV and nationally on CBS.
