I-70 Reopens After Fatal Crash
WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) - Interstate 70 has reopened in western Pennsylvania, after being closed for several hours when an Ohio man was killed in a violent crash.
State police in Washington, Pa. say 29-year-old Scott David Schuetz, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, was eastbound when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle in North Franklin Township. That's about 13 miles from the West Virginia line.
Police say the vehicle crossed an embankment in the median of the highway and flipped over in the westbound lanes, throwing Schuetz from the vehicle about 1:30 a.m. Friday. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
The Washington County coroner pronounced Schuetz dead at the scene.
The highway reopened before dawn.
