Husband, wife found shot inside Pittsburgh-area home
SPRINGDALE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- A husband and wife were found shot inside a home in Springdale Township on Friday.
Allegheny County police said a 911 call came in about a shooting at a home on Thompson Run Road shortly after 5 p.m.
First responders found a woman with a gunshot wound to her abdomen and her husband with a gunshot wound to the head, police said. One of the victims was flown to a hospital.
Both are expected to survive.
Police didn't provide any other details but said detectives don't believe anyone else was involved and there's no danger to the community.
The man was identified as Scott Mishler and he is now facing charges of attempted homicide as well as aggravated assault.
"It's a surprise to everybody, nothing like that happens around here," neighbor Justin Reed said. "I don't know the people, so I don't know what was going on. But it's abnormal for around here."
A neighbor said they saw a woman run out of the front door covered in blood before falling into a chair on the front porch.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
