Hunter Shoots 600-Pound Black Bear In Indiana County

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A Pennsylvania hunter shot a 600-pound bear yesterday.

Randy Coon, of Smicksburg, found the bear in a neighbor's corn field in Indiana County.

He says the bear came running out when his neighbor turned his combine on.

The biggest bear ever shot in Pennsylvania may have been five years ago near Stroudsburg.

That bear was 879 pounds.
