Hundreds 'Step Forward' To Raise Money For Parkinson's Treatment

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Hundreds of people gathered in Highland Park for the sixth annual Step Forward Pittsburgh.

The 1.5 mile walk raises money for Western Pennsylvania Parkinson Foundation as well as the Allegheny Health Network.

Step Forward highlights movement and exercise as an essential part of treating Parkinson's.

"There's been a lot of repeat people coming to the walk, we've created more teams, it's great to see everyone come out. Once people get involved they keep doing it for years," said Co-chair Jamie Heagy.

Music for the event was provided by local band Time Tested, featuring KDKA's own Paul Martino on keyboard. Jon Burnett served as emcee.
