Police: Teen Shot By Tattoo Artist In Homewood

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) -- Police say a teenager was shot by a tattoo artist in Homewood on Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to the area of Susquehanna Street and N. Homewood Avenue around 1:30 p.m. and found a 16-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot injury to the jaw.
He was sent to a local hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition.
According to police, the shooting happened inside a home in the 500 block of Susquehanna Street. The 16-year-old boy and another juvenile were visiting a tattoo artist, identified as 35-year-old Rafiel Collins, of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Police say at some point, Collins fired several gunshots at the two juveniles as they fled the residence.
It is unclear why Collins fired at the juveniles.
Police initially believed the shooting may have been connected to an attempted robbery.
Collins is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, violation of the Uniform Firearms Act and receiving stolen property.
