2 Arrested For Shooting Off Gun Near Officers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police have arrested two men accused of firing shots near officers in Homewood Sunday.

It happened around 1:10 a.m. when the officers were patrolling along Frankstown Avenue.

They heard several rounds of shots, one of which hit a parked car. After that, police say they spotted two men.

According to police, 22-year-old Tyrell Curges took off running, but was caught and apprehended in addition to 27-year-old Theodore Harris.

Police also say they found heroin and a gun that had been thrown under a car while the two tried to flee officers.

Curges is charged on multiple counts, including a felony firearm violation and felony drug offense.

Harris was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant.
