Ski Season Gets Underway At Hidden Valley And Seven Springs

SOMERSET (KDKA) -- Great news for everyone waiting to hit the slopes during this upcoming winter. Ski season is finally here! Hidden Valley and Seven Springs have begun ski operations for the 2017/2018 winter season.
The chair lifts at Seven Springs began daily operations on Friday and Hidden Valley Ski Resort will start delivering skiers and snowboarders up the mountains on Saturday morning.
Seven Springs Mountain Resort began both daily ski operations and night skiing on Friday, Dec. 15.
At Hidden Valley, slopes open at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. starting on Saturday, Dec. 16, and continue each day until extended hours begin on Thursday, Dec. 21. They report that they have both made snow and had natural snow falling as well. They report having 1 inch of natural snow with a base depth of 24-36 inches.
Hidden Valley reports 15 slopes and trails are open along with Jaguar Park open with 4 features and ourTubing Park will be open with three lanes.
The weather forecast for this weekend in the mountains was a mix of rain and snow and temperatures ranging from the 20s to the 40s. The previous three days had 18 inches of snowfall.
