Health Official On Ebola: 7 Quarantined In Ohio

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A health official says at least seven people in northeast Ohio are quarantined and being monitored because they had contact with a Texas nurse who was diagnosed with Ebola after visiting the area.

The Summit County Public Health medical director says the group includes five people in her county. Two are in Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland.

The nurse, 29-year old Amber Vinson, visited family in the Akron area last weekend, then flew from Cleveland to Dallas on Monday.

Vinson had treated the Liberian man who died of the disease in a Dallas hospital. Summit County health officials said Thursday that Vinson was conscientious and limited her movements in Ohio but did visit a retail store.

They say the store was closed Thursday as officials evaluated updated quarantine guidelines.
