PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police are investigating after a 26-year-old man was found shot to death in a car in Hazelwood overnight.
Police said a 911 caller alerted them to a deceased male sitting in a parked silver SUV along Glenwood Avenue just after midnight.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identifies the victim as 26-year-old Josiah Battle-Davis of Pittsburgh.
Detectives found the SUV and said the victim had been shot at least one time. The driver's side window was shattered by a bullet.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene and the SUV's engine was still running.
KDKA talked with Pittsburgh Bureau of Police's night watch Cmdr. Mike Pilyih. He said that investigation is still in its infancy, but this was not a recent crime.
"The investigation is ongoing, but it appears he'd been here since at least 3 or 4 o'clock this afternoon," said Cmdr. Pilyih.
A witness spotted the victim nearly eight hours after the crime. A witness also told police that the car had been parked on the street and running since early Thursday.
Detectives will now search for surveillance cameras in the area.
