Police: Student Flashed Gun On McKeesport School Bus, 2 Teens Arrested

MCKEESPORT (AP/KDKA) -- Two teenagers are facing charges after police say one of them brought a gun onto a McKeesport school bus.

McKeesport Police say the boys, one 15 and the other 16, were taken into custody Tuesday and charged with possession of a firearm by a minor and possession of a weapon on school property.

According to police, the firearm was passed between the two students.

They say the 15-year-old wasn't in school Tuesday, but arrived at the end of day to board the bus with the gun. Police say video posted on social media shows the a 16-year-old brandishing the gun while riding the bus.

District officials say they have completed their investigation and all further matters regarding the incident will be handled though McKeesport police.

They released this statement on Facebook:

"We were notified of a potentially dangerous situation that occurred on a high school bus, yesterday after dismissal. The report was made today regarding a weapon on the bus. Within the last hour, we have completed our investigation along with the McKeesport Police. All further matters regarding this incident will be handled through their department."

The 16-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday on school property and eventually taken to Shuman Center.

The 15-year-old was also arrested Tuesday and charged.
