Gov. Wolf Visits Flood Victims In Fayette County
CONNELLSVILLE (KDKA) -- Gov. Tom Wolf, touring the worst hit sections of Fayette County Friday, tried to reassure those affected by flooding that the state will do everything they can to try to get them back on their feet.
Gov. Wolf was on the ground in Connellsville. His impressions of the destruction are the same as everyone else.
"My impressions are -- this is amazing, first of all the devastation and the damage," he said.
Flanked by local officials, the governor met with flood victims and enter their destroyed homes.

One resident was hoping the governor would visit her home. She had only a few questions for him.
"I would ask him if there's any way they can either build a wall or something, that divides this creek from everybody's homes," said flood victim Bev Soisson.
Gov. Wolf's tour was much more than a meet and greet in a disaster area. He can move state relief assets and ask the federal government to do the same.
"I think the most likely thing is the Small Business Administration is coming, and if they find at least 20 homes destroyed, and they'll find that, they are going to allow low-interest loans at 1.6 percent up to $200,000 to help these people rebuild," he said.
