Get Marty: Mom Calls For Park Dedicated To Fallen Officer To Be Cleaned Up
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A mother of three little league baseball players put out a desperate call for help to Get Marty.
"I am disgusted by what's happened to this wonderful field," says Lee Ann Salerno.
The Bloomfield woman reached out to KDKA when she got fed up with what's happened to Paul Sciullo Memorial Park.
"There's graffiti, there are holes in the dugout walls, and that's just for starters," says Salerno.
Paul Sciullo was gunned down in Stanton Heights while working as a Pittsburgh Police officer. The park was dedicated in his honor.
KDKA'S Marty Griffin reached out to Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto's Chief of Staff Kevin Acklin, who responded immediately.
"This is a sacred park. This is to honor somebody who gave their life to the city. Shame on anybody who would come down here and vandalize that memory," he said.

Acklin had Public Works crews immediately paint over the graffiti. He also had significant repairs done to the rest of the park.
"It's fantastic to see folks do their job in such a timely manner. Marty, I can't thank you enough," says Salerno.
Meantime, Pittsburgh Police promise to keep a close eye on the park.
