Furry Tails: Whirlybird & Chipz Are Waiting For Forever Homes

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Chipz

Western Pa. Humane Society

Chipz loves to play, go for walks, and of course, get treats! This girl would love to find a loving place to call her forever home!

Western Pa. Humane Society Pet Profile:
I am a big sweetheart and I love people! I love sitting in your lap while I chew on a toy or eat a treat and I love going for walks. (I am told I walk very nicely on a leash!) Although I am a little older, I am still very playful! When I play with toys sometimes I don't realize how easy I'm supposed to take from your hand, so I need a little training with manners that can easily be fixed by hand feeding me, just ask a staff member about the benefits of hand feeding. One of the volunteers has been trying to teach me to give five, which is fine because I get more yummy treats while I learn and I catch on very quickly! Because I need manners with my toy playing, it is recommended that I go home with kids 12 and older. I might be able to live with your dogs as long as they come in and meet me first so that I can approve of them!

Even though I have been here for a very short time, the two-leggers who work and volunteer here have been extra nice and kind to me. I am getting lots of love and attention from our staff and volunteers.

Whirlybird

Animal Friends

Whirlybird is a beautiful kitty that would love to find a calm home with a kind family. She loves to play every now and then, but also enjoys a good nap!

Animal Friends Pet Profile:
Whirlybird has bright green eyes that are sure to capture your heart. When she's not intently tracking every dust bunny, shadow or curious sound she encounters, you can find Whirlybird curled up in a ball napping. Because she can be timid at times, Whirlybird wouldn't be an ideal fit for a home with young children, but a loving family that doesn't mind the occasional play session would be just right!

If you can help, come to Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237 or call 412-847-7002. For more information on how you can adopt any of the pets at Animal Friends, visit their website here!
