Furry Tails: UberPUPPIES Event To Raise Awareness About Pet Adoption
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Thursday's going to be mutts in Pittsburgh.
The Western Pa. Humane Society is partnering with Uber all afternoon on Thursday to bring puppy playtime right to your workplace.
And let's be honest, who doesn't deserve a puppy break from work every now and then.
According to the Humane Society, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 19 people can use their Uber app to order puppies from their shelter. The puppies will then be shuttled to that person's place of work for 15 minutes of playtime.
There is a $30 charge, and all of the profits will benefit the Western Pa. Humane Society.
The shelter is hoping to accomplish three things with the partnership - raising awareness about pet adoption, finding the puppies good homes and highlighting their mission.

Shelter officials say this is the first time anything like this is being done in Pittsburgh.
In a press release, Shelter Director and Director of Community and Governmental Relations Mary Withrow said: "We are extremely grateful to have a company like Uber put time, energy and resources into finding these puppies a home and highlighting the important work of the Western Pa. Humane Society as the oldest open-door shelter in the area. What a fun, cuddly, and therapeutic way to get out the message of the importance of adopting companion animals."
After the event, officials say the puppies will then be up for adoption to good homes.
