Furry Tails: Arabella & Sora Are Waiting For Good Homes

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Arabella

Animal Friends

Poor Arabella! This sweet, older girl needs a new loving family to care for her through her golden years! Could you give her a second chance at a forever home?

Animal Friends Pet Profile:
This gentle soul never expected to be homeless during her golden years. Lovely Arabella was brought to the shelter when her family could no longer afford to care for her. But she's one tough cookie and knows better times are ahead.

This people-oriented older gal has few demands and is looking for a retirement home where she can be comfortable and feel secure. Arabella, like many of us, has put on a few extra pounds over the years and now needs to focus on counting calories and exercising regularly. Running marathons isn't in Arabella's future, but short, frequent walks will help this calm canine regain her former physique.

Arabella is hoping to spend her senior years in a settled environment and would make an ideal addition to a family with children over eight. Could it be yours?

If you can help, come to Animal Friends at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237 or call 412-847-7002. For more information on how you can adopt any of the pets at Animal Friends, visit their website here!

Sora

Western Pennsylvania Humane Society

Sora is an activity, fun-loving, pretty cool dude! He needs a loving and patient family to give him a good home!

Western Pa. Humane Society Pet Profile:
Calling all runners! Are you looking for a new running partner? Well, look no further - Sora is all that you need! He is a dashing young gentleman with a lot of energy. Before Sora went to his foster home, he often spent time in the development office at the Western PA Humane Society. The ladies reported that he was calm and well-behaved, and also, that he loves peanut butter!

One thing that potential adopters would need to understand is that Sora is a reactive dog. This means that he sometimes overreacts to certain stimuli, often being other dogs. Sora's reactivity could have been caused by many things, but because we don't know his full background, we can't pinpoint the origin. His adopters can, however, work with him through proper training to help him manage his reactivity.

Sora's foster mom has reported that he has never had an accident in the house and that he rides well in the car. He enjoys playing in the yard with sticks, but also loves to cuddle on the couch and watch a movie.

If you think that you would be Sora's dream home, call the Western PA Humane Society today to set up an appointment and meet him today!
