Former Secretary Of State Madeleine Albright Guest Stars On 'Madam Secretary'
There is no bigger guest star to appear on "Madam Secretary" than the first female Secretary of State.
"I do watch TV and I have thought very much that show's that are popular and understandable have a role to play in terms of educating our public," Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said. "What actually blows my mind is how current the particular issues are and that in the show they really do deal with real things."
Secretary Albright makes a cameo appearance as herself to advise Secretary McCord, played by Téa Leoni, in the second episode of the season. McCord then chooses to ignore President Dalton's recommendation on how to negotiate the safe return of a State Department employee who was kidnapped in Afghanistan.
"What I think is great is that all of us former Secretaries of State kind of stick together and talk to each other about what the issues are like, it's quite a group," Secretary Albright added.
"Madam Secretary" airs Sunday at 8:30-9:30 PM, ET/8:00-9:00 PM, PT.
