Former Giants RB Tiki Barber: Bettis Is A Hall of Famer To Me
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber joined The Cook and Poni Show from radio row at the Super Bowl on Thursday.
Barber talked to the guys about how Le'Veon Bell's stock rose in Pittsburgh this season and how it forced LeGarrette Blount out.
"They want the running back to do a lot of things and Bell does it really well, " Barber said. "That is why he is one of the best backs in the league. LeGarrette Blount doesn't. He got thrown on a scrap heap. Whether he smoked himself out of Pittsburgh or whatever it was, he went back to a place where he could feel more comfortable in doing one or two things really well, and Bill Belichick has brought that for him."
Former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis will once again be up for a chance at the Hall of Fame this weekend, but Barber tells the guys he should already have been in before now.
"He is a Hall of Famer to me," Barber said. "His career was distinguished. When you think of the Pittsburgh Steelers you can't help but think of Jerome Bettis and couple that with all the records and the Super Bowl, than to me that is Hall of Fame material."
