Flood Warnings Issued As Heavy Rains & Storms Move Into Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) –Heavy rains over the past 24 hours have triggered some flood warnings around the area.

According to the National Weather Service, a Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 11:15 a.m. for Westmoreland County.

As a result, motorists are being advised to watch out for possible flooding along the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstates 79, 279 and 376.

In Beaver County, Route 68 near Industry is closed due to flooding.

According to Meteorologist Ron Smiley, a front stays in our area through at least Sunday and maybe as long as Monday.

Until it pushes off to the east, we will have a chance for rain each day.  The cool down is still incoming with highs in the mid-70s this Monday and even cooler over the following couple of days.
