Flames Spew From I-79 After Trailer Catches Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Flames spewed from the side of Interstate 79 in Washington County Saturday after a trailer went over the side of the road.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. off of southbound I-79, near Cecil Township.

Police say a truck towing a trailer with a 30-foot boat was traveling on the road, when the trailer began to sway and went over the guard rail.

At some point, the gas tank was ruptured and the trailer caught fire and slid into the woods.

The driver, from Florida, only suffered minor injuries.
