Firefighters Battle 4-Alarm Blaze On The South Side

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- 3443680

It's happened in the 2300-block of Mission Street. Around 10 p.m., officials upgraded the fire to four alarms.

According to officials, no one was inside the first home when the fire began.

The blaze spread to a second home, but all people inside were able to escape. Two cats inside the home were treated for smoke inhalation and will be taken to a shelter.

Crews stopped the flames from spreading to a third home.

People in the area rushed to the scene when they spotted fire.

"I was down at my girlfriend's house and we saw flames, I was concerned it was on my street so we came up to take a look. As soon as we got here the house was completely engulfed," said neighbor Ryan Greguric.
