Weekend Shows Cancelled At South Side Theater After Fire
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Firefighters rushed to a South Side theater Friday on reports of a fire.
It happened at the Rex Theater on Carson Street.
There were reports of smoke showing from the roof, but the flames were quickly contained.
According to a Rex Theater Facebook post, no one was hurt. Unfortunately, the shows scheduled to run this weekend have been cancelled due to the fire.
Neighbor Geno Marcino owns a pizza shop, and said he saw the fire start.
"I run down and shut down the gas and electric power, everything off, then next thing we know the officers and fire department were trying to secure the building," Marcino said.
