Fire quickly spreads between homes in Arnold

ARNOLD, Pa. (KDKA) — A massive fire quickly spread between two homes and damaged a third in Arnold on Sunday night.

Flames were seen shooting from the roof of one of the homes. Firefighters at the scene quickly put out the flames that broke out at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday along Taylor Avenue.

Arnold Volunteer Engine Company No. 2's Chief Eric Gartley told KDKA-TV that a house under renovation caught fire and the flames spread to a vacant home. A third occupied house sustained some heat damage. The house that was under renovation is a total loss.

One man whose home was damaged said he is thankful that first responders knocked on his door.

"We were sitting down eating dinner and the cops came knocking on the door saying we need to get out of the house," Ryan Titus said.

Chief Gartley said there were no injuries. The fire marshal will investigate the cause.
