Failed Transformer Leaves Mt. Lebanon Residents Without Power

MT. LEBANON (KDKA) -- A number of Mt. Lebanon residents were without power for hours Sunday morning due to a failed transformer.

Power was out for close to 11 hours in the Cedarhurst area of Mt. Lebanon, near Bower Hill Road and Segar Road.

According to Mt. Lebanon Police, they were made aware of the transformer failure, which was caused by an "animal incursion," around 12:30 a.m. In a Facebook post, police say they were initially told power would be restored by 3 a.m., but the power outage continued late into the morning.

Duquesne Light began restoring power in the area around 11 a.m.
