Driver of vehicle hits, kills pedestrian in Butler County

Pedestrian hit and killed in Butler County

BUFFALO TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- The driver of a vehicle hit and killed a man in Butler County on Wednesday. 

The crash happened off Ekastown Road in Buffalo Township. The man killed was identified as Dave Roenigk.

In a post on Facebook, WL Roenigk Inc and Roenigk Tire said Roenigk was "a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and dedicated bus driver" who worked his entire life at W.L. Roenigk Inc. The post said he would be remembered as a "caring, quiet, easy going and kind man who was proud of the job he did."

"We are devastated to say that we have lost a beloved family member and employee today in a horrible accident," the Facebook post said. 

"Rest easy Dave, you will be greatly missed," the post added. 

Police are investigating.
