Emergency Room At Ellwood City Hospital Closes After Serious Violations

ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. (KDKA) -- The Ellwood City Hospital's Emergency Room was shut down by the State Department of Health.

The department said there are serious violations but offered no specifics.

Sources told KDKA a CT scan machine malfunctioned and the area was evacuated.

For now, the state is imposing a ban on admissions and suspending emergency department services.
