Police Investigating Hit-And-Run Pedestrian Crash In East Pittsburgh

EAST PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating an early morning hit-and-run pedestrian crash in East Pittsburgh.

A 62-year-old man was walking across Route 30 by the Sunoco Gas Station near the Westinghouse Bridge around 2:20 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle then sped off.

The victim was sent to a local hospital with fractures to his leg, his sacrum and a rib. He was last reported to be in stable condition.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and identify the driver after recovering evidence from the scene and checking surveillance video.

The East Pittsburgh Police Department continues to investigate.

Route 30 was closed in both directions for about two hours, but it has since reopened.
