PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There's an investigation underway after a reported rape at Duquesne University.
A crime alert was issued to students, and many of them are concerned about the alleged incident.
"I am honestly impressed with Duquesne that they would tell us about this, keep us informed."
That was one student's reaction to an alleged sexual assault on the Duquesne University campus.
Friday looked like an average day on campus as students walked to class, but many of them had something more on their mind other than academia.
"I think it's just scary to know that it happened on our own campus," said Katie Robertson, a student. "You would think that this is a private school and it's not that big, so usually people wouldn't imagine that it would happen here."
Early Wednesday morning, a female student says she was sexually assaulted in Brottier Hall, a 20-story high-rise dormitory.
She told police that several males were involved in the alleged incident that between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. in the room of a man she recently met on a dating site.
She filed a report with campus police just before 10 a.m.
"I just think it's crazy that that happened, but they did send out emails, so we know of the situation and it kind of made us aware of what was happening and to protect ourselves," said Tayler King, a student who lives in Brottier Hall.
In addition to making students aware of the alleged incident, the university also gave them safety tips.
Meantime, police say the males involved have been identified and Pittsburgh Police is investigating, but there is no word of any arrests.
