Diehard Pirates Fan Gets '2015 World Champs' Tattoo
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - To find the biggest believer in the 2015 Pittsburgh Pirates, you'll have to look outside of the Pittsburgh area.
In fact, you'll have to take your search beyond the entire state of Pennsylvania to the town of Frostburg, Maryland, where 29-year-old Andrew Broadwater resides.
Broadwater's confidence in this year's Pirates squad is so high that he's already gotten a "Pirates 2015 World Champs" tattoo. For those unfamiliar with MLB, that's nearly two months before the postseason even begins.
"I'm pretty confident that this is our year," Broadwater told "The Fan Morning Show" Thursday.
He got the tattoo on Wednesday.
"We filled in the key pieces that we were missing from the last two years in our playoff run, and I feel that we can go deep into October this year," he said.

Broadwater's tattoo came as a surprise not only to the sports world, but also to his wife.
"She went to work yesterday," Broadwater said. "I had the day off, and then when she came home, I had the tattoo covered, and I unveiled it to her, and her face was priceless. She was shocked, but she's had time to, I guess, calm down about it. She's on board and she's good with it."
Broadwater lives about two hours from PNC Park, but has been to 13 games this season, reveling in the excitement of having a contender to root for.
"After the 20 years of losing and bad ball clubs, we finally get a team, and instead of selling at the trade deadline, we're buying," Broadwater said. "We're keeping players. We're building for the future.. I just think this year we have the key pieces to make the run. I think we can be the San Francisco Giants of last year."
But, what if the Pirates don't win this year's world championship?
"I haven't thought about a cover-up," Broadwater said. "It's there. I've made my bed, and I've got to lay in it."
On a sunny day in Market Square, we solicited opinions:
"It's pretty bold."
"You can't predict the future."
"He's making a statement."
"We'd better win."
Fans at the PNC Park ticket window had a range of opinions.
"That means we're going to be the World Champs in 2015."
"That's a bit risky, though, considering we're six games, seven now, behind the Cardinals."
"Maybe in October."
