Pens: Crosby Diagnosed With Concussion, Status Unclear
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins will open their season on Thursday, but they might have to do it without their captain.
According to the Penguins' official website, Sidney Crosby has been diagnosed with a concussion.
Head coach Mike Sullivan said Crosby suffered the concussion during a practice on Friday.
"We always have our players best interest, and health is the priority," said Sullivan. "Regardless of who the player is, that's how we feel. We've always felt that way, so this one will be no different."
Coach Sullivan on Crosby's concussion: "It happened in practice on Friday." There is no timeline for his return yet.

Crosby underwent testing today after sitting out the team's preseason finale on Saturday. He also missed practice this morning.
