Crime Stoppers: Reward Offered In Wilkinsburg Money Mart Armed Robbery
WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- Wilkinsburg Police and Crime Stoppers are looking for help from the public in identifying the man who held up a Money Mart store last month.
It happened on the morning of April 22 at the business located in the 700-block of Penn Avenue.
Wilkinsburg Det. Sgt. Wayne McKenith said the man, who was dressed in black, walked into the business and pulled a shotgun from his sleeve.
The robber was unsuccessful in getting money from the store clerk because of bulletproof glass and a security door. But police say he held up three customers who were in the store at the time.
Det. Sgt. McKenith said, "No doubt, this was a very dangerous situation with three non-suspecting customers forced to the floor and robbed of money and personal possessions."
