Crime Stoppers: Police Still Searching For Local Mom's Killer
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It was nearly four years ago when the bullet-riddled body of a 30-year-old mother of two was found face down on a dead-end street in Homewood.
The victim was identified as Samantha Powe, who lived in the East Liberty-Garfield neighborhood.
Her body was found on Hallman Street, and police crime scene tape is still today visible near the spot where she was found.
The area is littered with trash and overgrown with weeds.
Pittsburgh Homicide Detective Christine Williams said, "People thought what they heard were gunshots that night in July 2013, but because of a thunderstorm, they didn't pay much attention to it."
Lightning hit a tree branch and it fell down, blocking the street. It was only when someone got out of their car to move the branch, that Powe's body was discovered.
