Crime Stoppers: Police Asking For Help In Fatal Hazelwood Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh police are asking for help finding the person who shot and killed a man in Hazelwood last month.

On November 19th, 52-year-old James Paige, Jr., was found dead at his home in the 5000 block of Ampere Street.

"The victim was inside of his residence when the incident occurred," said Emily Schaffer, the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety's assistant public information officer. "His family members actually came home and found him deceased in the home, his girlfriend and two young children."

Paige's family says he survived a drive-by shooting 20 years ago. Family members described him as a father, a brother and a very generous man.

"There's no way somebody could get shot 12 times and nobody don't hear or see nothing," Delari Clemmons, one of Paige's sisters, said on the day of the shooting. "Somebody heard something. Somebody saw something."

At this point, investigators have little to go on, so they're asking the public for help. A Pittsburgh Police spokesperson says it's believed the murder took place between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on the 19th.

The Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers number is 412-255-8477. Anonymous tips are accepted. Information leading to an arrest and conviction could be rewarded with up to $1,000.
