Crime Stoppers Offers Reward In Unsolved Homewood Murder
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police say no suspects have been identified and no motive has been established in the shooting death of Thomas McClellan, 53, of East Liberty.
And, like the cold day he was shot to death outside a Homewood convenience store, the investigation itself has gone cold.
Police Commander RaShall Brackney said Wednesday night that McClellan's son drove through the intersection near where his father was killed - the corner of Frankstown and Homewood Avenues - about half an hour before his father was gunned down.
Detectives have canvassed the neighborhood and checked out surveillance video from security cameras, but the case is still unsolved.
Commander Brackney said McClellan was at a Quick Cash Mart shortly before he was shot.
"So, we think someone was with him, or saw him immediately before or immediately after," she said.
The Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers has put up a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
