Man Dies After Crashing Vehicle Into Hill District Church

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man died Saturday after crashing into a Hill District church.

It happened in the 300-block of Kirkpatrick Street just after 9:30 p.m.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office identified the victim as 23-year-old Oscar A. Mazza, of Pittsburgh. He was pronounced dead at 9:41 p.m.

Police say Mazza lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the side of Lily Baptist Church. He was the only person in the vehicle. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.

Kirkpatrick Street was closed between Bentley Drive and Fifth Avenue.
