CRAFTON HEIGHTS (KDKA) – A man is recovering after being shot twice in Sheraden Thursday morning.

Pittsburgh Police were on their way to a report of shots fired when they were flagged down by a woman in the Corliss Tunnel, who said she'd just crashed her car.

She was driving her 28-year-old boyfriend to the hospital after he was shot in the chest and ankle.

The victim lives on Du Bois Street with his girlfriend, her toddler and 5-month-old. They were all at home when the shooting happened.

The man's aunt says it was 5:30 a.m., and he was on his way to work at his construction job when he was shot before he could even get to his car.

Pittsburgh paramedics were able transport him from the Corliss Tunnel to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he underwent surgery and was last listed in stable condition.

Du Bois Street is very close to the Pittsburgh Gifted Center school. The street was shut down for the majority of the morning while investigators cased the scene, but it did not impact the school.

At this point, there are no suspects.
