Philly Police: Laptop Theft Suspect Unaware Of Campaign Link
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police say the man arrested as a suspect in the theft of three laptop computers from the car of Hillary Clinton campaign workers had no idea the items were part of any campaign.
A 27-year-old man was taken into custody Saturday at his home in the west Kensington neighborhood and the three computers were recovered.
Four campaign workers had parked their car on a street near Interstate 95 and the Delaware River on Friday night and had gone to a restaurant. They returned to find the rear passenger window broken and three backpacks gone. A campaign official says they were personal belongings of three staffers.
Police called it a random theft and say the suspect had no idea whose car it was or of any link to any campaign.
