Clerk Shoved To Ground, Surveillance Video Released Of Robbery
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Allegheny County police released surveillance video from a Circle K convenience store robbery.
It happened at a Sharpsburg Circle K store early Wednesday morning.
Police say the suspect displayed some acrobatic skills, first pretending to be a customer and casually walking up to the counter.
When the clerk opened the register he jumped over the counter, knocking the clerk to the ground, and grabbing a handful of money.
That clerk told KDKA's Ralph Iannotti, ""I thought he was trying to hurt me [when he lunged toward me, and I thought why?"
She says she's feeling a little sore now, and that everything happened so fast.
There were six customers in the store at the time of the robbery, so she didn't have time to think about what had just happened.
Police said the suspect was black with hyperpigmentation or scars on his cheeks and nose.
He was about six-feet tall with a thin build, and fled on foot in an unknown direction.
If you recognize the suspect, Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers wants to hear from you, at 412-255-8477.
There's a reward of up to a thousand dollars for information leading to an arrest.
