CBS Analyst Dan Fouts On Roethlisberger: "I Am Worried About Him"
PITTSBURGH (93-7 the Fan)- NFL on CBS Analyst and former Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Fouts joined The Cook and Poni Show on Thursday.
The guys opened the show asking him about Ben Roethlisberger and his reported broken bone in his throwing hand that the Steelers and Roethlisberger have denied.
"I'm worried about him," Fouts said. "I think a lot of people probably are. I've had that type of injury before where you bang your hand or your thumb or your wrist or fingers on a defensive player and it does smart, but you have to take his word that there is no broken bone and you don't see a cast or wrap on it. Then, you have to figure that he is going to be okay, but we shall see."
Fouts said that Ben will need to be at his best to beat Cincinnati this week in what he calls a must-win for the Steelers.
Fouts also said there is nothing that you can read into by Roethlisberger missing practice on Wednesday.
"Not with a guy with this kind of experience. He knows the Bengals will know that," Fouts said. "I think it's wise to take a rest at this point of the season."
Fouts added that in the later years of his career, late in the season he would skip practice all week and only play on Sundays because of injuries or old age.
Fouts also talked to the guys about the Cleveland Browns decision at starting quarterback and the impact of the Baltimore Ravens losing Haloti Ngata for four games due to the NFL's PED suspension.
