Canadiens' Michel Therrien: Crosby's Still The Best Player In The World
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Montreal Canadiens Head Coach and former Penguins Head Coach Michel Therrien joined The Cook and Poni Show on Friday to preview tomorrow night's Penguins- Canadiens game.
Therrien says he is surprised there is so much concern in Pittsburgh right now regarding Sidney Crosby and the slump he's in.
"I still believe he is the best player in the world," Therrien said. "I know what he is capable to do and he is still the best player in the world."
Therrien says that dealing with both Crosby and Evgeni Malkin is no easy task for any team.
"When you have Crosby and Malkin on your team it gives you two great lines, which is tough to defend," Therrien told the guys. "You need to be on top of your game. If you are not aware of the way you need to play, they will make you pay."
Therrien also likes the job first-year head coach Mike Johnston has done thus far with the team, but he is aware what they do in the playoffs will matter most.
