Democratic Party Adds To Calls For State Lawmaker To Resign
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Leaders of Pennsylvania's Democratic Party are now adding to calls for a Democratic state senator from Montgomery County to resign.
Friday's statement by Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Patton Mills and Vice Chairman Sharif Street comes a day after the Senate's top Democrat said a lawyer's inquiry into complaints about Sen. Daylin Leach found a "lengthy pattern of troubling behavior."
Some claims involve behavior that Senate Minority Leader Jay Costa says created an unprofessional and sexualized environment in Leach's office.
Leach says he feels vindicated after reading a summary of the lawyer's findings, but acknowledges that he's used poor judgment in his choice of humor.
Leach also denies a woman's claim that she was 17 in 1991 when he allegedly lured her into his home and pressured her for oral sex.
