Police: Homeowner Shoots, Kills Intruder In Brentwood

BRENTWOOD (KDKA) -- Police are on the scene of a deadly home invasion in Brentwood.
On Wednesday, officials responded to a home invasion and shooting in the 100 block of Bellcrest Avenue.

First responders learned the homeowner shot the intruder, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
The intruder was identified as Mitch Verheyen, who police say got into an argument with a man on Bellcrest Avenue and followed the man into his house.
The homeowner grabbed a gun from his bedroom and shot Verheyen three times, police say.
The investigation is ongoing.
