Pa. Man's Body Recovered From Lake In Central New York

LENOX, N.Y. (AP) - The body of a 51-year-old Pennsylvania man has been recovered from a lake in central New York three days after the man went missing while swimming.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says the body of James Gambini of Plains, Pennsylvania, was recovered early Monday morning from the South Bay area of Oneida Lake.

Gambini was reported missing shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday after he jumped off a boat to swim and never resurfaced.

The body of another missing swimmer was recovered from Oneida Lake on Sunday. The sheriff's office says 62-year-old Richard Whitney of West Monroe went swimming from a boat at Lakeshore Yacht Club around 3 p.m. Saturday. His body was found about 24 hours later by state police using sonar equipment.
