PARKS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Investigators are searching for a gunman after a man and woman were fatally shot inside a home in Armstrong County on Monday afternoon.

Their bodies were discovered around 3:30 p.m. inside a home on West Fifth Street, near the Uncle Charley's Sausage Plant in Parks Township, right outside of Vandergrift.

The Armstrong County District Attorney's Office and state police investigators confirm they are now investigating the incident as a double homicide.

The Armstrong County Coroner's Office identified the victims as Dawayne Klingensmith, 29, and Heather Swiklinski, 22. Both were from Vandergrift.

Meghan Schiller's Report:

A toddler was also found inside the home. The 17-month-old child was found in a crib, unharmed. A grandfather took custody of the child after finding the bodies in the home.

Police say they have not yet identified any suspects.

"We have some people of interest that we're looking to speak to. We have not identified any suspects at this time," said Lt. Eric Hermick, of Pennsylvania State Police. "We are not certain as to what exactly transpired here, other than two people were shot in two different locations inside the residence."

Family and friends gathered just outside the police perimeter during the evening hours, crying and consoling one another.

KDKA's Kym Gable confirmed late Monday night that state police have now taken over the investigation from Parks Township Police, which was the department first on the scene.
