Bethel Park High School Assistant Hockey Coach Arrested For Heroin Possession

BETHEL PARK (KDKA) – An assistant coach for the Bethel Park varsity hockey team has been arrested after being caught with heroin.

Kenneth Lehmann, 26, was arrested by Port Authority Police Thursday at a Park-n-Ride in Sheraden.

Sources confirm undercover officers nabbed Lehmann with a syringe, and 20-bags of heroin.

The KDKA Investigators confirm Lehmann has an extensive criminal past, including felonies for robbery and forgery, not to mention 10-writing bad check charges, and use and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bethel Park Hockey team coach Jim Mcvay says he was aware of Lehmanns prior drug and criminal history but believed it was behind him.

McVay calls the situation "sad and tragic" and says Lehmann is now off of the team.

Meantime the Bethel Park Hockey team is a club sport and has no direct affiliation with the school.

The school district has no control over coaches background checks, but they will now take a close look at all club sports policies.
