Ben Roethlisberger Named AFC Offensive Player Of The Week

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - In a game he wasn't even supposed to play, Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 22 of 33 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns, good enough to earn him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

According to a team press release, Roethlisberger's 379 passing yards set a single-game NFL record for most passing yards by a quarterback that did not start the game.

This was Roethlisberger's 41st time throwing for 300-yards and the 32nd time he threw for at least three touchdowns, but both are firsts for him coming off the bench.

Roethlisberger is no stranger though to the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award as this is the 13th time in his career he has received the honor.

The Steelers are off this week but will be back in action next week as they head out to Seattle to take on the Seahawks.
